Mike is a Managing Director at Horizon Partners, co-founding the firm from Hillhouse Capital Advisors, a boutique financial services firm that he also founded. At Horizon, Mike has pioneered a bespoke, artisanal M&A advisory model, crafting highly-customized transactions like the dual-buyout structures conceptualized and executed for Horizon clients like Distrokid and Spatial Networks.
Mike has been advising bootstrapped technology companies for over 15 years and co-leads every client engagement. He has earned numerous industry honors for innovation in transaction strategy, process, and structuring, including a number of ‘Deal of the Year’ awards as well as distinction as an Emerging Leader (M&A Advisor) and Rising Star (M&A Atlas Awards). In 2020, Mike was named Boutique Investment Banker of the Year by the M&A Atlas Awards and in 2021, he was named Investment Banker of the Year by The M&A Advisor.
Mike holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, graduating with Distinction in Finance & the Law. He holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Utah where he graduated with highest honors.
Sandy is a Managing Director at Horizon Partners and co-founded the business in 2010 with no outside funding. He has architected Horizon’s highly focused strategy of partnering with exceptional, product-led bootstrapped technology companies such as Distrokid, Mathway, and XE.com.
Prior to Horizon, he was Vice President, Director of New Media & Technology at Media Venture Partners, a boutique M&A advisory firm in San Francisco. Sandy started MVP’s New Media & Technology practice and closed the first M&A transaction for a smartphone gaming company in early 2010.
Sandy has been advising bootstrapped technology companies for over 15 years and co-leads every client engagement. HIs approach is informed by actively investing in technology startups such as unicorns Palantir, Canva, and Zoox. Sandy received his B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University.
Michael is an Associate at Horizon Partners. Prior to joining Horizon, he was a valuation associate at Scalar Analytics, where he performed in-depth financial analysis for public and private companies, venture capital and private equity firms, and high-impact financial litigation cases. Michael holds a B.S. in Accounting from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University.
Savannah is an Associate at Horizon Partners. Prior to Horizon, she was a financial analyst at a venture-backed SaaS company and has also worked as an equity capital markets analyst at Stifel. She holds a B.S.M. in Finance from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
